In this article, users will learn the steps required for sharing a record with Filer.

Sharing is useful for users to quickly share an entire record with a colleague who needs to access to all documents contained within a record.

In this article, screenshots will follow the example of an employee record context. All steps outlined below will be relevant for your context.

Sharing records with Filer

  1. Navigate to the SharePoint site where Filer is installed at your organisation.
  2. Search for the record you are looking for using search, bookmarks, views or briefcase
  3. In the record view, select the ‘Share’ icon in the top right of the record.

User will type the name/s of the recipients of the record and the email body that will be sent to the recipient. Click the ‘Send’ button after filling out required information.

Sharing Documents with Filer

  1. Navigate to the SharePoint site where Filer is installed at your organisation.
  2. Search for the record you are looking for using search, bookmarks, views or briefcases.

  1. Select a document that you wish to share and click the ‘Share’ button in the left-hand ribbon.
