In this article, users will learn how to upload files on Filer. Uploading files is used to upload more information to a particular record.

Creating a new file with Filer
Navigate to the SharePoint site where Filer is installed at your organisation.
Search for the record you are looking for using search, bookmarks, views or briefcases.
On the record click the ‘Upload’ icon in the top right ribbon.
To upload the file, click the ‘Browse’ button and select the file from your local file explorer.
Users can select the title of the file, document type and access type. The Document and Access types are configured by your organisation. When the user populates information about the article, they can see the metadata populated against the file. There is an option to convert to PDF, if you convert to a PDF, users will not be able to edit the file in Filer. When all information has been populated, click ‘Upload’ button to upload the file to the record.
The uploaded file will appear in the record.
