Within this article we will cover how you can add native file types for documents with non-traditional file extensions so that the system can open them in the appropriate program.
If you have any questions or issues with the configuration please submit a ticket to our support team.
1.1.1 Adding native file types
- Navigate to the Filer admin centre then select ‘Configuration’ from the left-hand menu.
- You will then see a pop up and from here select the configuration that you want to manage.
- You will notice the interface will change now to show the configuration that you are currently managing in the top right-hand corner of the page.
- From here select ‘Native App File Types’ from the tabs under Configuration
- You will then be presented with a screen like the following from here select ‘Create’.
- From this menu you can add the appropriate file extension and a brief description of what this file extension relates to (for example engineering documents), once you have added this information you can go ahead and select ‘Save’.
- From here you can delete the item if you select the ellipses against it and then ‘Delete’.
