How to add native file types

Within this article we will cover how you can add native file types for documents with non-traditional file extensions so that the system can open them in the appropriate program.

1.1.1                    Adding native file types

  1. Navigate to the Filer admin centre then select ‘Configuration’ from the left-hand menu.

 

  1. You will then see a pop up and from here select the configuration that you want to manage.

 

  1. You will notice the interface will change now to show the configuration that you are currently managing in the top right-hand corner of the page.

 

  1. From here select ‘Native App File Types’ from the tabs under Configuration

 

  1. You will then be presented with a screen like the following from here select ‘Create’.

 

  1. From this menu you can add the appropriate file extension and a brief description of what this file extension relates to (for example engineering documents), once you have added this information you can go ahead and select ‘Save’.

 

  1. From here you can delete the item if you select the ellipses against it and then ‘Delete’.
