Once the prerequisite steps have been carried out in SharePoint you are now ready to setup your Filer configuration, the steps to do this will be covered in this article.

If you have any questions or issues with the configuration please submit a ticket to our support team.

Creating Filer Configuration

  1. Navigate to the Filer admin centre then select ‘Manage Configurations from the left-hand menu.

  1. From the next page, select ‘Create’.

  1. Next you will be presented with a flyout menu from where you can add some details for your configuration, add a name and description for your configuration and from the ‘Demographic Source’ dropdown select the demographic source you just setup.

  1. Next add a demographic context, if you go to the tooltip against this field, it will offer some further guidance on what you might add in here, it should simply be a description of the particular records that will be held in your demographic list (whether this be employees, customers etc.).

  1. Below the demographic context add the URL of the SharePoint site that you have setup for this particular Filer configuration (which will look something like this: https://[YourTenantName].sharepoint.com/sites/[NameofSite]), below this field you are able to select a content type group – select the same custom group that you setup when you configured your content types and then finally under the ‘Web Part URL’ field add a link to the page to which you have added the case viewer webpart.

  1. Next you can add an email address and name of a user who will be responsible for managing the configuration.

  1. Below this there are various additional settings that you can enable, two of these are enabled by default but can be disabled if not required. If you hover over any of the tooltips against these settings, you can get some more context on what they will do.

  1. Once you have enabled/disabled your desired features select ‘Save’, from there you will be taken to your newly created configuration so you can setup the various components.
