Once the demographic list has been created in SharePoint, you are now ready to connect the demographic information by creating a demographic source in Filer.
Creating a Demographic Source
- Navigate to the Filer admin centre then select ‘Global’ from the left-hand menu.
- You will be taken to the Manage Configurations page initially and from here select ‘Demographics’.
- From the next page, select ‘Create’.
- Next you will be presented with a flyout menu from where you can add some details for your demographic source.
- In this menu, add a descriptive name, you will need to find this when we create the configuration in a moment so ensure it is a memorable and meaningful name, then add the URL of the SharePoint site that you have setup for this particular Filer configuration (which will look something like this: https://[YourTenantName].sharepoint.com/sites/[NameofSite])
- You will notice that the ‘List’ field which was previously greyed out is now enabled, select the ‘List’ dropdown field and choose the demographic list you setup for this configuration.
- Now you have selected a list the ‘Fields’ dropdown should be enabled, select this and then choose the fields from your list that you would like to be included in your configuration by ticking the checkbox next to the ones that apply (you should select fields that are relevant to the record itself and those which you want people to be able to search for in order to discover the records).
- Once you have added the relevant fields select ‘Save’
