Once your Filer configuration has been created there are some additional steps to set it up, the second step is to create some demographic mappings which is what will be covered in this article.
If you have any questions or issues with the configuration please submit a ticket to our support team.
1.1.1 Creating a Demographic Mapping
- Navigate to the Filer admin centre then select ‘Configuration’ from the left-hand menu.
- You will then see a pop up and from here select the configuration that you want to manage.
- You will notice the interface will change now to show the configuration that you are currently managing in the top right-hand corner of the page.
- From here select ‘Demographics’.
- And then select ‘Create Mapping’.
- You will then be presented with a menu from where you can add details for your new mapping.
- Select the ‘Property Name’ dropdown and from here you will be presented with the columns from your demographic list, select one of these and then add a Display Name (this affects how this column will appear against record documents within the viewer and can be different to the actual name in your demographic list).
- Below the Display Name field there are four checkboxes which you can use to enable a user’s ability to search/refine by using this property to find documents related to a record. Check the boxes that you would like to enable.
- Below this is the ‘Results Order’ field which will allow you to determine the order in which fields will appear in the record search bar
- Finally at the bottom is the ‘Internal Name’ dropdown from where you can select which content type field you want to map against the field for the record.
- Once you have filled this out select ‘Save’, note if you are adding multiple mappings at once then you can check the ‘Add another’ checkbox and when you save you will be brought straight back into this menu to create another new mapping.
- Once you have added your mappings it will look something like the following
- And if you select the ellipses next to an item you can edit or delete it by selecting the respective button and you also have the ability to set the primary/secondary identifiers which are used elsewhere in Filer when setting up certain elements of your configuration, you have to at least setup a primary identifier but the secondary identifier is optional.
